Over-the-counter homeopathic remedy Malaria officinalis 30c withdrawn 07-05-2008, 4:27 pm The Faculty of Homeopathy, the professional body for doctors and other statutorily regulated healthcare professionals who integrate homeopathy into their practice, has long held the position that homeopathic medicine should not be promoted for the prevention of malaria. It is still the case that there is no evidence to justify the use of Malaria officinalis 30c in place of conventional preventative medicine. The Faculty supports steps to inform the public of the dangers of malaria and the need to follow government guidance. Dr Peter Fisher, Faculty member and Clinical Director of the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital says, “Malaria is a life-threatening disease and there is no published evidence to support the use of homeopathy in the prevention of malaria. The Faculty recommends the public follows the Health Protection Agency guidelines”(1). Ends........
