The Faculty of Homeopathy promotes the academic and scientific development of homeopathy and ensures the highest standards in the education, training and practice of homeopathy by dental surgeons, doctors, nurses, midwives, osteopaths, pharmacists, podiatrists, veterinary surgeons and other statutorily registered healthcare professionals.

The Faculty, which was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1950, has over 1,400 members throughout the world and is poised for growth as interest in homeopathy increases both among the public and within the health care sector.

Postgraduate courses are taught at five locations in the UK and seven overseas. Students are encouraged to sit the specialist examinations which lead to the Faculty's qualifications: LFHom, MFHom (for doctors, nurses, dentists, osteopaths and pharmacists), VetMFHom (for veterinary surgeons)and DFHom (for pharmacists and podiatrists).

The Faculty also publishes Homeopathy (formerly the British Homeopathic Journal), the leading international journal in the field, and is an active member of the international homeopathic community. The Faculty is one of the founding members of the European Committee for Homeopathy which has developed a European code of professional conduct and agreed standards of training in homeopathic medicine in the European Union.

Homeopathy is used by doctors, veterinary surgeons and many other healthcare professionals. In pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, midwifery, osteopathy and podiatry, practitioners use homeopathy for their patients within the bounds of their profession.
